The Endangered Species Coloring Book informaton & images were created by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service

This fish gets its name from its short point nose. The shortnose sturgeon is shaped like a torpedo and can swim very fast. It has two homes. In the winter and spring, the fish lives in rivers and swims upstream to lay eggs. This trip can be over 100 miles long! Then, in the summer and fall, the fish swims out to its second home in the ocean.
