Florida Manatee

This gentle animal lives in the coastal waters of Georgia, Florida, and Puerto Rico. It is about 10 feet long and can weigh up to 2,000 pounds-as much as a car! Manatees eat only plants. After eating, they may swim to the bottom and rest for awhile. Manatees can hold their breath for up to 12 minutes at a time.
