Gavel to Gavel: The Florida Supreme Court Oral Arguments Online

There is only one State Supreme Court that we are aware of, which videotapes their Supreme Court sessions and makes them available online. That state is Florida. At Gavel to Gavel you will be able to choose cases from 1997 to the present to review. RealPlayer is required for watch the video.

This is a rare glimpse at the functioning of a state Supreme Court system, without necessitating a personal appearance in the courtroom during one of the cases. Gavel to Gavel is an excellent way for law students to review supreme court cases within the state of Florida. Much better than a simple paper transcript, law students are able to hear the tone in which the arguments were offered and see the inner workings of the court system. This is an excellent resource for anyone involved in the legal system.
