Crocodile Hunter Killed By StingrayOn September 5, 2006, Steve Irwin known as the Crocodile Hunter, was killed by the barb of a stingray while filming "the Ocean's Deadliest" with Philippe Cousteau. Steve was known for his exploits with all sorts of creatures around the world, both harmless and deadly. He has been called a naturalist and an educator, but in many ways he was also a thrill seeker. There has been reels of footage of Steve Irwin taking, what seems to the average man, enormously foolish risks with deadly creatures. He surely would have disagreed that he was in any way careless, but his death at such a young age does beg the question of whether his death could have been avoided with just a modicum of safety precautions. A couple of years ago, Steve came under fire for dangling his new baby in one arm while baiting a large crocodile with his other arm. Now, his death is overshadowed people questioning his thrill-seeking methods. Questions to Ponder
