Britain's Rocky Past - From the Big Bang to the Present
By BBC Education
Aug 20, 2006, 09:54 PST

This interactive geological timeline of the Earth from the BBC helps the past to come alive. This excellent presentation on the changes that have occured to earth through the ages condenses the separation of the continents, and the recurring ice ages into a matter of seconds. It's fascinating to watch as the polar ice caps reach down into the United States, only to retreat once again to the most minimal coverage. This is also a wonderful exploration of the Earth's land form shift.
