North American Mammals
An extremely valuable tool for conducting research on North American Mammals, this interactive presentation has several options to search for the animal you are interested in.
Use the Map Search to find mammals native to a specific location.
Use Search by Species Name to find a specific mammal by common or scientific name. You can also select an order, family, or genus.
Search the Family Tree by using the interactive Flash application which lets you navigate through the mammalian family tree.
Search by Conservation Status to find mammals that are extinct in the wild or endangered in their natural habitat.
Lastly, you can Search the Special Collections for animals with skull, or bone and teeth images.
Use the glossary to define specific terms of interest.
