The Rover travel guitar is the perfect instrument to take on trips, when you need to be able to store the guitar in the overhead compartment. It was specifically designed to do just that. It's a great little guitar to take along with you on a plane or boat without having to worry about how you're going to transport a full-sized instrument.
This smaller guitar comes with a foam padded guitar case that's designed with backpack straps. I personally think this would have been a great guitar to have taken to Europe when I was younger. Guitars are an excellent way to meet people when you're traveling, and the Rover would have been much easier to handle on and off the trains and planes.
The Rover is also a great first guitar, especially if a full-sized guitar seems a little too big. Washburn has packaged an instructional CD-ROM with the Rover to help first time musicians get started.
On the aesthetic side of things, the Rover comes in four colors: natural and black for the more classical at heart, as well as red and blue for those who like a little more color in their lives.
We can't vouch for the sound of the instrument, since we haven't had a chance to actually play one, but since the Rover is primarily for use as a travel guitar, I'm sure the sound is fine for campfires and sing-a-longs.
The recommended retail price for the Rover is $199.00, and it comes with the carrying case and instructional CD-ROM.
