Hair's an Idea!

Hais an Idea!

It had been ten years since I'd cut my hair.  That's not counting the usual inch off the bottom to keep it healthy, mind you, but it was down to my waist.  I had gotten in the habit of putting it up in a bun and ignoring the fact that it was there.  My 26th birthday came around and I got an itch.  I went to my hair stylist and told her to chop it off.   I wondered if I could sell it.  Hmm...

Then she handed me a page printed from an online site.  Locks of Love is a charity organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under the age of eighteen with medical hair loss.  With 12 inches cut off in a ponytail, I was the perfect candidate for donating hair!  Hair may be colored or permed, but not chemically damaged and must have a minimum length of 10" in order to donate it.

All you have to do is fill out the short information form, print it out and send it with your hair.  Not only will you be liberating yourself with a dramatic cut, but you will be helping to restore self esteem and confidence to children who really need your help.  How cool is that?!

Another charitable organization to which you can donate your hair is http://www.wigsforkids.org/.  Unlike Locks of Love, their minimum length required for donation is 12".  Check out both websites to see which organization would be better to donate to in your case.
