This set of lesson plans for middle school math classes has been designed by the Port of Long Beach using real world situations. One of the first questions I often see when students ask for help with an equation, is "When am I ever going to use this in real life?" These lesson plans let students do math with real world problems.

These are excellent lesson plans that are easy to follow and administrate. This teacher's guide has accompanying PowerPoint presentations available on their website to use with your students. Take a look, they will probably fill your curriculum requirements in more than just math.
