| From Classbrain.com Lesson Plans Picturing Modern America (1880-1920) Explore American history from 1880-1920 through the use of historical photographs with the help of "Picturing Modern America." This site has some interesting exercises to help students explore American history, including the Image Detective, and the Exhibit Builder.
In the Exhibit Builder, students get the chance to build their own photographic galleries and slide shows from sets of photographs available online. The Gallery Builder only has a few images sets available at this time, but hopefully this will be expanded soon. The wonderful part of this section of the site, is that students can actually store their projects online and complete or retreive them at a later date. This is excellent for class projects. There is also a section call Investigations, which allows students to explore certain historic topics, such as the modern woman, child labor, prairie life, Indian life, and more. This site is definitely worth exploring! Source: The Center for Children and Technology / Education Development Center © Copyright 2004 by ClassBrain.com |
