In Search of Shakespeare

This special series premiers on PBS February 4th - 25th, 2004. (Check your local listings.) From here you can access a guide to the four-part series and the people behind the scenes. Episode 1 is “A Time of Revolution”, Episode 2 is “The Lost Years”, Episode 3 is “The Duty of Poets”, and Episode 4 is “For All Time.”

On February 2nd, educators can access “Shakespeare in the Classroom” which is teacher materials developed in partnership with the Folger Shakespeare Library around six thematic strands. You’ll find Shakespeare's Language, Shakespeare on Film, Performance, Primary Sources, Teaching Shakespeare to Elementary Students, and Teaching Shakespeare with Technology.

If you’re looking for a challenge, try your hand at writing plays. In a ‘choose your own adventure fashion’ The “Playwright Game” lets you decide which plays should be performed in a major theater of 16th Century London. Click on the investigation to explore The Shakespeare Dossier, the Fribbling Reports, the players,locations, evidence, glossary, and complete set of works.
