WebQuest Rubric

This WebQuest rubric can be used to clarify what is expected from your students and to standardize your grading process on this type of project. If a page falls between the categories, you can use partial points in your grading.

Overall Aesthetics (This refers to the student's work, not the webpages to which the student linked.)

Overall Visual Appeal

0 points

Few graphics, if any. Poor page layout - no variation. Poor use of typography - only one typeface with no variation in size or style.

OR

Poor use of color - garish or unreadable. Typographic variations are overused making the layout hard to read. Background pattern interferes with legibility.

2 points

Graphics help explain the concepts, ideas and relationships to some extent. Type, graphics, and layout are legible, but lack creativity or consistency.

 

5 points

Excellent use of graphics helps to explain concepts, ideas, and relationships. Type, color, and backgrounds are appropriate and consistent.


Navigation

Navigation is confusing and unconventional. Pages are hard to find and/or it is hard to find your way back to the beginning.
