CNN Student News
Looking for a way to teach your students about the conflict with Iraq?
This site is a truly unique aspect of CNN where you can find top stories written by CNN journalists, working in collaboration with teachers, that are appropriate in vocabulary and content for middle and high school students. Each story has a lesson plan and there are even special resources specifically for teachers. You will find lesson plans by subject including World Events/Geography, U.S. History/Government, Science/Technology, Economics/Mathematics, Language & Fine Arts/Media, and Health/Life Skills. On the right side of the web pages are additional features and supplementary resources from educational partners such as Harcourt and its divisions: Holt, Rinehart, and Winston.
CNN Student News is a TV program for classrooms that airs on CNN Headline News. Set your VCR to record CNN Student News from 3:12am to 3:22am ET Monday - Friday. Using the TV show in conjunction with the website links your curriculum content to current events, thus enhancing your students' knowledge and increasing their awareness. What they're learning in class is linked to what's happening in the world!
