Linkage Mechanisms
A student wrote to us asking for information about linkage mechanisms and how specific ones work. Linkages, in case you dont know, are common in everyday objects. You can find Parallel Motion Linkages in tool box draws, Crank and Slider Linkages in steam trains, and Bell Crank Linkages on bicycle brakes. To see some really cool animations of how these mechanisms work, check out this website. Click on Example to how they relate to your life.
