Which states border the state of Illinois?

Illinois is located in the northcentral portion of the United States, and it is bordered to the north by Wisconsin, to the east by Indiana and Lake Michigan, to the southest by the Ohio River and Kentucky (across the river), and to the west by the Mississippi River and Missouri and Iowa (across the river).
