Which states border the state of Tennessee?

Tennessee is located in the south-central portion of the United States, and it is bordered to the north by Kentucky and Virginia, to the east by North Carolina, to the south by Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi, and to the west by Arkansas and Missouri (across the Mississippi River).

Tennessee is tied with Missouri as the states with the most bordering states. Both Tennessee and Missouri have eight (8) neighboring states.
Our thanks to George Butler for catching that Tennessee tied Missouri.
