This project tracks the history of food and local recipes across the country. There are three sections to explore:
- 500 Years of American Food takes a look at the history of food in the various areas of country. AS an example if you choose the Northwest you can learn what Chinese immigrants ate and drank as they built the railroads. This is a wonderful look at the history of the US through it's food.
- The American Cookbook Project allows you to participate in this wonderful Smithsonian project by uploading your own favorite recipes as examples of food throughout the country.
- Eating Across America allows you to look up local food festivals, restaurants, and markets anywhere in the country. You can also add to this section to make sure that your city or town is represented.
