MAGIC Historical Scanned Map Collection
If you are looking for historical maps of the Connecticut and North Atlantic, this is where you can find some of the most interesting ones. The index page looks pretty barren, but it holds wonderful treasures. Choose a map based on geography, coverage, and year (as old as 1755), then click on the link on the right of the description that says “metadata.” It will take you to a new page with a thorough description of the map, and a thumbnail of what it looks like. Click on JPEG or JAVA and you will open up a viewer for the map. Simply choose how close you’d like to zoom, and click the area you’d like to view.

This is a wonderful set of maps! Not to be missed by anyone interested in the history of Connecticut and North Atlantic Region. There are also a number of maps for the United States at large.
