Mississippi Recipes

The following recipes will introduce you to the foods of Mississippi. Some of the recipes are for easier items that are good for classroom state report projects such as Mississippi Mud Pie or Fried Green Tomatoes. There are also recipes that are a bit more exotic, such as Mississippi Blue Crabmeat Au Gratin and Moroccan Catfish Couscous. Relax and enjoy yourself as you explore the tastes of Mississippi.

Seafood Cookbooks
These are some excellent PDF cookbooks available here from the staff at the Dept. of Marine Resources. There is an oyster cookbook, a shrimp cookbook, and two general cookbooks from 2002 and 2003. The 2003 cookbook includes some delicious crab recipes: Mississippi Blue Crabmeat Au Gratin and Mississippi Blue Crab Dip, as well as various recipes for fish, oysters, shrimp, and crayfish. These cookbooks each contain quite a few recipes that will give you a taste of Mississippi’s unique cuisine.
