Kentucky Recipes

The following recipes will introduce you to the foods of Kentucky. Some of the recipes are for easier items that are good for classroom state report projects such as Sweet Potato Pie and Appalachian Gingerbread. There are also recipes that are a bit more exotic, such as the Potted Grouse. Relax and enjoy yourself as you explore the tastes of Kentucky.

The Pride Of Kentucky
Sample seasonal recipes are available free from The Pride of Kentucky Cookbook, the official cookbook of Kentucky. It showcases traditional and modern recipes from around the state, including select recipes from notable Kentucky chefs. Recipes include: Cayce Corn Bread, Sweet Potato Casserole, and Appalachian Gingerbread (a great taste tester for school projects).

Old Louisville Recipe Book

The sections that are up at this point are: beverages, puddings, fritters, fruit, candy sweets and treats, and poultry. Be sure to take a look at the pudding recipes, a classic victorian treat.
