U.S. Department of Education is an amazingly rich resource area for the field
of education. It helps parents, teachers, and students to succeed in
school, find lesson ideas, learning resources,
and educational materials, locate professional
development opportunities for teachers, strengthen
assessment, parent involvement, school safety, special education, and civil
rights, plan for college, find the right
postsecondary institution, take advantage
of financial resources and learn about postsecondary
accreditation and participate in federal student aid programs.

The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) has the task of
providing each public school student in Grades kindergarten through 12 with a
strong academic foundation. The agency oversees 1,159 schools in 310 school
districts. One of our favorite resources is the Refrigerator Curriculum,
which gives a student-friendly printout of what students should know by the end
of each school year.

California Department of Education has extensive resources available on topics
from teaching and technology, to finances, to children’s health, to
special education. There does not appear to be any special materials for
students and parents, but with a little investigation you will find ample

The Colorado
Department of Education (CDE) is the administrative arm of the Colorado State
Board of Education. With an organizational commitment to high standards, tough
assessments, and rigorous accountability measures, CDE serves the preK-12
public education, adult literacy and library communities of Colorado.

This web site will help you access resources and information
pertaining to The Department of Education the State Board of Education, and the
Delaware public school system as a whole. For your information they have posted
the most current educational reports
and statistics, information about the new Delaware Student Testing Program
(DSTP), the DOE Professional Development and Activities Calendar, and Delaware
School Profiles. The Activities Calendar, in particular, is a handy way for
teachers, and parents alike, to keep on top of events taking place within the
Delaware education community.

Florida
has posted resources for administrators, educators, parents and students on
their site. The Commissioner of Education posts a weekly calendar specifying
his location each week, giving him high marks for accessibility. For teachers,
there is an exceptional set of Curriculum Planning
Tools, available to download for both the Macintosh and the PC. These tools cover all subject areas and
are a wonderful resource for teachers everywhere.

aspects of Georgia's educational system at this website. At the top right
of the page there is a quick links to special reports on schools and
technology. This is also one of the
few state education sites that is translated into a number of different
language editions, giving it a high accessibility rating for non-English
speaking residents.
