A Review of The Travel Writer's Handbook
The classic writer's book, The Travel Writer's Handbook has just entered its 7th edition. Although one of its authors, Louise, has passed away, her co-author, Jacqueline, has updated this most recent edition for today's web-enable publishing world. Louise Purwin Zobel published the 1st Edition of the Travel Writer's Handbook in 1980 and passed away in June of 2008 at the age of eighty six. Her writing partner has taken over the reigns on their publication, and the new edition is a thorough look at the nuts and bolts of how to write your articles and then how to get them published.
The Travel Writer's Handbook is divided into two parts. Part one focuses on style, research, reference materials, markets, and so much more. You will learn how important it is to plan out an itinerary, slant your story, and how your slant will allow you to sell the same basic story more than once.
Section two covers how to query and how to showcase your best works. Jacqueline also helps you figure out if you should add photos to your project, personalizing your reader's experience, and making your stories available in the web and on web devices.
