How to Fight, Life, and Cry Your Way to Popularity (and a prom date) - Review

Are the lousy life lessons in How to Fight, Life, and Cry Your Way to Popularity (and a prom date) worth a chuckle or two? Since I'm a fan of both movies and quirky little books, I was looking forward to reading this book. However, my anticipation was not rewarded.

According to the book's cover, the life lessons are supposed to be "laugh out loud," but this book barely has a chuckle or two between its covers. I suppose the author thought she was funny, but I for one was not able to tap into the same sense of humor as this author. for me the summaries were poorly done, and the "lousy life lessons" were not only, not very funny, they also were not very accurate.

Out of the fifty movies showcased in the book, I have seen the majority of them. Each movie is accompanied by a summary, a sound bite, and a trivia question. Unfortunately, most of the sound bites were poorly chosen, the summaries were poorly written, and the trivia was just okay, this adds up to a boring little book that does not live up to its title

For me this was a no go. i would rather spend my money watch another dumb little teen film than spend it on this book. Save your money and see another odd little teen film, then perhaps you can take create a list of your own humor-filled life lessons. Quite frankly, I think almost anyone's list would be better than Nikki's is.
