If you’re familiar with any of Tamora Pierce’s other work, this series should feel vaguely familiar. It contains some of the same characters that were in the Song of the Lioness series.

Tamora Pierce has added more natural magic into this series, two new main characters, and wonderful mythical creatures. Some creatures are bad, others are good, but almost all of the species in these stories have one creature with a heart of gold.

Tamora also introduces Kitten who isn’t a kitten at all. So, read the series and find out what she really is.
