The Caldecott Award Book List

The Caldecott Award Book List

Part 1

Through the years I have collected some of the best illustrated children’s books ever made.  I love the rich detailed illustrations that make the stories come to life.  Even though my children have grown beyond the age of picture books, I still buy them for myself.  I suppose it’s a little piece of childhood that I allow myself to relive from time to time.

Below is a list of children’s books that have won the coveted Caldecott Award.   The Association for Library Service to Children presents this award each year to the artist of the “most distinguished American picture book for children.”  I hope that you enjoy exploring the books on this list as much as I have through the years.

Visit the ALA/ALSC website to learn more about the Caldecott Award and the honor books that were also recognized by this society.
