In 1965, Truman Capote's book In Cold Blood was published recounting the brutal murders of the Clutter family. A movie of the same name was released in 1967, and this year a movie called Capote recounts Truman Capote's life during the time that he was writing this gripping novel.

Through these two movies, In Cold Blood and Capote, we get an insight into the mind of the murderers and the mind of the author as he researched and assembled the story into a timelessly gripping story. This is a unique opportunity to examine an author's mode of research and development (as seen through director William Bennet's eyes), the finished novel, and the novel's translation into film.

Watch In Capote and research Capote through the following links. Write a paper discussing why you think Truman Capote became so obsessed with this case, and why he never wrote another book.
