What would it be like to be able to control time? Would you
want to go into the future or into the Past? Would you want to speed it up, or
slow it down? This lesson explores the time and Einstein’s Theory of
Relativity.
Objective
With the use of The Time Machine, and/or Clockstoppers,
explore the concept of time, the feasibility of time control, and
Einstein’s Theory of Relativity.
Design another variation on the way time and space could
function.
Project 2 - Watch Clockstoppers and discuss the possible
scientific problems with increasing the speed that a person travels through
space and time. Remember to take into consideration the concepts of aging,
atmospheric friction, and metabolism.
An inventor creates a time
machine that takes him 800,000 years into the future, where he helps save humanity
from a race of beings called the Morlock.
An inventor from Victorian
England invents a time machine and travels into the far future. Humanity has
fallen into a dark time and is preyed upon by a hostile race called the
Morlock.
A boy’s father fixes a
watch for one of his ex-students that can speed up time for the person who wears
it. His son, Zak, puts on the watch and accidentally triggers the device. Evil
scientists then chase after Zak and his father trying to get the device.
