Halloween in Hollywood

Hollywood becomes Hollyweird as the Halloween ghouls hit the streets. 2007 marks the 20th anniversary of the West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval. This gathering is often called one of the "world's largest street parties," and what a party it is! Over a 1/2 million people will join together to celebrate this haunting holiday.
The "West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval" in West Hollywood, CA began in 1987; three years after the City of West Hollywood officially became a City within the County of Los Angeles. The festivities are free to attend, although there will be a charge for the great food, drink, and goodies available from the street vendors.

Halloween is right around the corner, are you ready to be spooky and have a spectacular time? Well, bring out your best costumes or a chance to win some great prizes. This gives you a great opportunity to join the Annual Youth Halloween Carnival of 2007. YES, kids the night of fun is finally here for you to enjoy the carnival rides, game booths, entertainment, moon bounces, candies and prizes. Cost is $2 per person. Come out to West Hollywood Park for this fun and exciting event! Certificate of Appreciation will be awarded to all participants. Great prizes for guardians and pets will be awarded in several different categories including: Scariest Costume, Look-Alike (pet and guardian), Most Creative Costume, Most Colorful Costume and Best Costume. All pets must be in good health, restrained y leashes (or other means) and have ALL applicable immunizations. Proof of immunization must be shown. Admission is free. Let's Get Ready to RUN! Rev it up, grab those heels (2 inch minimum) and come on out to race for some glorious prize packages. The Annual West Hollywood Drag Races are back! Prizes will be awarded for 1st -- 3rd place. Not a sprinter? Worried about messin' up your makeup and hair? Then skip the race but get out those pumps and pump up the hair for the 3rd Annual Drag Pageant. The City of West Hollywood's Halloween Costume Carnaval is the largest adult outdoor Halloween event in the world. There are three stages of live entertainment to rock you including the much celebrated costume contest stage. This is an event for those who like to watch and be watched; food and drink galore.

If you have not started on those costumes, you had better get to work. This year there will be 20 bracelets given out on Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny and La Cienega from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. These bracelets will be handed out by a secret crew. The magic bracelet will get you on stage at the costume contest to complete for the grand prize of the night. The bracelet crew will be out there looking for you so come on and impress. There are 3 prize packages up for grabs. 1st prize $1,000, 2nd prize $500, and 3rd prize $250.
