Trapped Turkey Syndrome
It's a surprisingly common condition -- the turkey is in the oven roasting to perfection, but then it becomes trapped. To briefly sear their turkey, some cooks boost the temperature beyond 500 degrees and other cooks manually lock their older ovens thinking it will improve cooking performance, but both approaches can lead to a trapped turkey.
