Question: What is secular humanism?

Answer:

Dear Linda,

The following site from the University of Virginia has an excellent
explanation of secular humanism, and their "official beliefs."

BeliefNet also has an interesting write-up, based on responses from people
that filled out their poll (Belief-O-Matic). It's a funny name, but it
gives you a good idea of how people in that group actually view themselves.

I think that these sites will give you a good overview of secular humanism.
There is also a good list of additional links on the subject from the
University of Virginia site.

Thanks for writing to us.
