Hi I really need help! please e mail me back ok heres the question....... The size of a poster is 18 inches by 30 inches. How much can it be reduces and still have dimensions that are a whole number of inches?

Katie -

This is an exercise in factoring.
You need to find the largest common factor.

For 18 the factors are 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18

For 30 the factors are 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 30

The largest common factor is 6, so if you divide both sides by 6, you end up with a poster reduced to 3” x 5”

Easy! :)
