The National Diet Library of Japan has assembled an amazing photo and portrait gallery of a diverse group of famous Japanese people. There are over 350 images of prominent Japanese citizens in modern Japanese history. This is a wonderful way to investigate individuals in all aspects of Japanese culture.
There are photos of statesmen, government officials, military officers, businessmen, scholars and artists, who had an impact on building modern Japanese society. Each photo is accompanied by a short biography of the individual. This collection is a must-see for anyone interested in modern Japanese culture.
