Overlooking the Indian Ocean, situated on seven kilometers of private white powdery sand beach you will find Oceana Beach and Wildlife Reserve. A luxury lodge amid lush rolling green hills, the new five -star resort on the Eastern Cape features a different kind of South African experience.

Oceana is the only private game reserve on the beach in South Africa. From surfing, snorkeling, and swimming in the ocean to daily game drives on the reserve, Oceana provides the best of both worlds. Guests view exotic animals in their habitat with the resident biologist pointing out wild game, birds, plants, and flowers while riding around on a specially converted game vehicle.

Ten spacious private suites make up this exclusive safari lodge. With a romantic setting like no other, plenty of privacy, and superb service, Oceana is ideal for the most discerning travelers. Families are also welcome throughout Oceana with a plethora of family friendly activities available on and off the reserve. For those who can't completely escape business when they travel, the lodge is thankfully outfitted with WIFI.

World-class chef Chris Greef prepares spectacular, five-star cuisine, served in a dining room with floor to ceiling glass walls to bring in the natural environment. Previously a chef for Queen Elizabeth for five years, his dishes are based on local produce, seafood and meat, created with an international flair. For those with a culinary bent, Chef Greef also gives cooking lessons in the kitchen of the private Ocean House.

Oceana is the vision of Rip Miller, a Texan who has spent the last fifteen years traveling to South Africa. When he saw the site which became that of the lodge, he knew immediately how exciting this property would be. “When I took in the views of this ocean while surrounded by the bush, I imagined the most wonderful setting anyone has ever seen” said Rip Miller, Owner of Oceana Beach and Wildlife Reserve. “It has now become a reality for me and my family and we are thrilled to be able to open up Oceana to the world.” Sensitive to the environment, Rip ensured that the lodge would have a minimum impact on the land. No large trees were cut down when the lodge was built and remains an eco-friendly reserve.
