***UPDATE*** : In Paris, the RATP and the SNCF (which operate the Métro system) will stop selling the Carte Orange in its magnetic form starting Feb. 1, 2009. Riders will then need to use new Navigo passes. The phase-out will happen in two steps: Jan. 20 will mark the end of monthly magnetic Carte Orange passes, and Jan. 30 will mark the end of the weekly passes.
